In response, we’ve collected our best picks, tips, and tricks to help you catch up on sleep instead of counting sheep! Today, we’ve interviewed Jack and Nick to discover the best cannabis for sleep. Interviewer: Welcome, Jack and Nick! Thank you for joining us today. Let’s jump right into it!
Q: What are your recommendations for the best cannabis strains for promoting sleep?Nick: Thanks for having us! When it comes to strains for sleep, I often recommend indicas or indica-dominant hybrids. These strains tend to have more relaxing and sedating effects, which can help you unwind and fall asleep easier. Jack: Absolutely, Jack. One of my personal favorites is Fig Farms Blue Face. It’s an award-winning indica known for its potent sedative properties and its ability to ease both the mind and body into a state of relaxation. Nick: I agree, Fig Farms Blue Face is fantastic! Another great option is Northern Lights. It’s renowned for its calming effects, making it ideal for those struggling with insomnia or restlessness. In fact, Lost Farms has a Black Raspberry x Northern Lights CBN gummy that helps me to fall asleep. Interviewer: Those sound like excellent choices! Q: What other cannabis products do you incorporate into your bedtime routine for optimal sleep?Jack: For optimal sleep benefits, indica flower or extract is the best choice for sleep because of the full spectrum of cannabinoids found in indica strains. They will be the best benefit for sleep. People who want to use cannabis to sleep should avoid smoking hybrid or sativa-leaning strains before bed. I personally reach for Axiom Hash Temple Balls or Fire King Hash.
Nick: Those are good! I also like to use Jetty Live Resin Dablicators on my joints, especially with the Gush Mint strain.
Interviewer: Thank you for all the great advice about specific cannabis products. Now let’s get a little personal…
Q: What kind of trouble do you have sleeping, and how does cannabis help?Nick: Many people, including myself, have trouble falling asleep without the help of cannabis. Personally, I’ve found edibles to be very helpful. When I pop an edible, I lay down and can actually fall asleep. The gradual onset and longer-lasting effects of edibles provide a smoother transition so I can relax and get a good night’s rest. Jack: Not all cannabis helps me fall asleep. In fact, hybrid or sativa strains keep me awake, so I try to avoid them anywhere near bedtime.
That’s why I stick to strictly pure indica because indica flower gives me the body relief and the drowsiness that I’m looking for.
Q: Do you have any tricks that you use or that you’ve seen others use to help them fall asleep with cannabis?
Nick:The toughest part is making sure that the sugar inside your edibles is not keeping you up at night. If you are sensitive to stuff like that, try switching over to concentrate or something that you can ingest that has less sugar. Jack:Infuse your flower with hash or just try hash rosin. High potency products combined with potent flower is the best bet for someone who has a high tolerance. If you’re infusing stuff with hash, it gives a more full-spectrum high compared to infusing with other things like distillate or live resin.
Q: You mentioned CBN gummies. What’s the difference between CBN and THC? And how does either help you go to sleep?Nick: CBN, or cannabinol, is a cannabinoid that’s often associated with sedative effects. Unlike THC, which is known for its psychoactive properties, CBN doesn’t produce a “high.” Instead, it’s believed to work primarily as a sleep aid, helping to promote relaxation and drowsiness. Jack: That’s right. While THC can also help with sleep by reducing the time it takes to fall asleep and increasing overall sleep duration, some individuals prefer CBN for its more subtle effects and lack of psychoactivity. CBN rosin gummies, in particular, offer a convenient and discreet way to incorporate this cannabinoid into your bedtime routine. Interviewer: But don’t most CBN gummies contain THC? Nick:High levels of THC are usually semi-sedative. But when they’re mixed with other cannabinoids like CBN, it directly affects sleep, while THC alone does not do that. When you combine high THC and CBN, it gives you a really drowsy feeling. And a lot of indica strains naturally have CBN too. Interviewer: Thank you for clarifying that. It’s fascinating how different cannabinoids can have varying effects on sleep!
Q: Do you have any tips for customers who are shopping for cannabis to help them sleep?
